Bittersweet nightshade and elder
I saw a bittersweet nightshade (cousin to belladonna) in the neighbourhood the other day. It’s so pretty and taking over an abandoned lot. (It isn’t native here.)
And some elder. The birds were quick to get the ripe berries but it let me take a couple leaves and little twigs (in exchange for promising to give it some in return when I become an elder tree, as required!).
